The final two candidates are set in Fall River’s mayoral race.

Fall River Mayor Paul Coogan and City Council President Cliff Ponte are moving on to the November 2nd general election.

The results:

Paul Coogan 3,893 (63%)
Cliff Ponte 2,118 (34%)
Jonathan James Albernaz 133 (2%)
Michael Vandal 50 (1%)

The race concerning Coogan and Ponte has been rather heated. Ponte has stated that he feels Coogan has no plan and no action while Coogan has had an issue with what he feels is negativity on social media from Ponte supporters in addition to his belief that Ponte would be a part-time mayor.

Albernaz ran a campaign based around what he feels are tyrannical mandates by the government due to the pandemic.

Michael Vandal chose to lay low and have a quiet campaign.

What people understand is that Mr. Ponte’s supporters are the same violent thugs that supported Jailhouse Jasiel. Mr. Ponte would get far more support from honest citizens if he distanced himself from these lowlife hackers and online bullies.
