Fall River man wanted in Saturday stabbing in custody
UPDATE: Patrick Theriault surrendered himself to the Freetown Police Department Thursday afternoon.
Fall River Police are looking for a suspect in one of the Saturday night stabbings.
On Saturday January 5 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Fall River Police responded to Ship’s Cove Apartments located at 130 Canal Street for a report of a stabbing. Officers located a 37 year old male victim who was critically injured. The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and is currently in serious condition.
Detective Dwaine Cabeceiras of the Major Crimes Division began an investigated assisted by troopers from the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit. Patrick Theriault has been identified as the suspect in the stabbing and an active arrest warrant exists for him for the following charges:
• Armed Assault with intent to Murder
• Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon causing Substantial Injury
Fall River Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Theriault. Anyone with information regarding Theriault is asked to contact Detective Dwaine Cabeceiras at 508-324-2796 or anonymous tips are accepted using the TIP line by calling 508-672-TIPS (8477).
