Fall River man held in crash that injured boy, damaged building
David Fernandes, 19 of Fall River, allegedly hit a 7 year old boy with his vehicle while crashing into Burlington Coat factory in Fall River. The accident took place shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. After striking the boy and the building, he then hit multiple cars before bystanders jumped on his vehicle.
The boy did not suffer life threatening injuries and was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
Fernandes is charged with operating under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating without a license, and leaving the scene with personal injury. He is currently held on bail.
