Fall River man arrested in connection with double homicide, held without bail
A Fall River man is being held without bail in connection with the murder of two city residents.
Jeremy Holmes was taken into custody without incident Friday at approximately 8:15 p.m. at the Boston Marriott Hotel in Burlington. Holmes was arrested by members of District Attorney Quinn’s State Police Detective Unit, Fall River Police, the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitives Apprehension Section and Burlington Police.
Holmes is charged with Carrying an Illegal Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Illegal Firearm and Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm.
Holmes was arraigned today in Fall River District Court and was held without bail pending a Thursday Dangerousness Hearing.
According to prosecutors, the weapon found at the scene of the shooting where 13 shots were fired was owned by Holmes.
Video surveillance was recovered concerning the shooting.
Holmes’ attorney stated that his client has no criminal record and that the gun in question is not Holmes’ property.
