Fall River Police arrested a city man after allegedly breaking into a local business.

According to Detective John Robinson, early this morning Fall River Police Officers responded to JZ Express on South Main Street in response to an alarm.

Upon arrival, Officer Zachery Vorce found the front door glass shattered and drops of blood on the glass and floor. Vorce notified other responding officers (Zachary Dupere, Christopher Teves, and Aaron Souza) who began a search of the area. Officer Zachary Dupere located Keith A. Cummings, 55, of Stafford Road, near St. Anne’s Hospital, intoxicated and bleeding from the hand.

As Cummings was detained, Officer Vorce was able to view videos from the store security system which depicted a man smashing the glass door, entering the store, opening cabinets, and leaving the store empty-handed. While exiting through the broken glass door, the man cut his hand on the glass.

Officer Vorce was able to identify the male in the video as Cummings. Officer Vorce took Cummings into custody on felony Breaking & Entering charges after he was treated at St. Anne’s for his laceration.
