Fall River firefighters begin “Fill the Boot” campaign
Fall River firefighters begin their MDA “Fill the Boot” campaign today.
Firefighters will be at intersections throughout Fall River collecting according to union president Jason Burns.
“You’ve been amazingly generous in the past and we ask once again that if you can dip into your pocket and donate…any amount…we’d be so grateful!”
Burns stated that FRFD are now in their 9th campaign with total money raised of over $250,000.
“With your generosity, Fall River Firefighters have routinely been in the top 10 in all of New England and New York and New Jersey in money raised…twice taking 1st place!”
The money raised helps support local families impacted by the neuromuscular diseases covered by MDA. According ton Burns, children have been sent to MDA summer camps and donations have gone towards research which has led to progress.
“Research has dramatically improved the quality of life of those afflicted. I look forward to seeing you out there!”
