Fall River Fire Department responds to large gas leak Tuesday
A large gas leak Tuesday caused a disruption in a Fall River neighborhood.
According to Fire Chief John Lynch, FRFD responded to 3292 North Main Street this morning for a large 8 inch gas main which was struck by a contractor.
Authorities evacuated several single family homes in the area as a precaution.
According to Union President Jason Burns, the incident has now been stabilized and the gas leak has been stopped.
The area however is still under repair and it is currently unclear when the road will be re-opened.
