Faces of Fall River #4: Melissa Dawson

Published

on

Meet Melissa Dawson, the President, Executive Director and a founding member of Angels Anonymous, a non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of life for all those living in the city of Fall River, Massachusetts and surrounding communities.

“In 2015, we started doing clean-ups around Fall River because we were sick of the bad reputation the city gets. We also wanted to improve the life of people around here and with the generous support of a landlord we got a location and started a food pantry.

Each month, Angels Anonymous receives over 24,000 pounds of food from The Greater Boston Food Bank and distributes it to over 300 families.

Melissa was born and raised in Fall River and graduated Durfee High School. There is no other place she’d like to be. “I love Fall River. I love the grit. I love the heart of Fall River. I want to give back and elevate the city – it has so much potential.”

This “Faces of Fall River” is sponsored by BayCoast Bank. We are looking for Faces of Fall River nominations, unsung heroes, people that go above and beyond, give back to the community and make Fall River a better place or just a little bit more interesting.
