Despite some obstacles, huge Swansea family entertainment complex could open this year
Despite issues caused by the pandemic that slowed progress, a huge family entertainment complex in Swansea could be open as early as the end of the year.
Silver Stone Castle Family Entertainment owner and president Joe Estrela, previously spoke of the long haul and obstacles faced in creating the entertainment center at 358 G.A.R. Highway during the pandemic.
Estrela says that the project could now be completed before the year is over or early next year.
At a Swansea town meeting in May of 2019, the majority of voters approved a zoning change that allowed the expansion of the complex.
The complex will be a medieval castle full of family entertainment.
The 3-5 million dollar 80,000 square foot complex will contain fun for all ages including a two story go cart track, laser tag arena, bumper cars, dance floor, stage for musical acts, and an area for pub style food. Part of an 8,000 square foot indoor heated pool will have a cathedral ceiling. The property will also include a life-sized catapult. Estrela is also considering having kayaking available in the river, although not at first.
Estrela will be holding a contest closer to opening to name the dragon which will watch over the Castle tavern.
