A Bristol County woman is being remembered after taking her own life last week due to postpartum depression.

According to family and friends, Ariana Sutton of Norton, described as a loving mother, has tragically took her own life only days after delivering newborn twins.

Those who knew her say that Ariana, “a vibrant and devoted mother, was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her twins, Everly Irene Sutton and Rowan Stephen Sutton. Unfortunately, their early arrival brought unforeseen challenges, placing an immense strain on Ariana’s mental health. Despite her relentless efforts to seek help, the burden of postpartum depression became too much to bear.”

Sutton, along with her sister, co-owned Starline Academy for the Performing Arts in Stoughton for the past 8 years after working there for five years prior, according to an obituary. She was a member of the Greater Brockton Dance Teacher’s Association and former member of the Impact Dance Company in Boston.

Arian’s husband is Stephen “Tyler” Sutton, an Easton police officer.

A GoFundMe campaign has been created to support the family’s needs including childcare support. The fundraiser has raised over $260,000 as of this writing.

In addition to the newborn twins, Tyler and Ariana also have a 4-year-old daughter, Melody Ki Sutton. Tragically, all will live on without their mother.

The Sutton family has reportedly received an outpouring of support from the community in addition to the financial support.

Family and friends of the Suttons are asking the public to keep the family in their prayers and to raise awareness about postpartum depression and the importance of mental health care during and after pregnancy.

Funeral services were held this morning.
