The City of Fall River is hosting two separate events at Government Center.
On Friday, October 10, 2025, at 1:15 p.m., Mayor Paul Coogan will be joined by Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, along with representatives from SSTAR, the Greater Fall River Domestic Violence Coalition, and WIC, for a Domestic Violence Awareness event.
The program will include guest speakers, a viewing of the Clothesline Project, a flag raising ceremony, and the presentation of a proclamation by Mayor Coogan in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The Clothesline Project is a display of t-shirts with messages and illustrations which represents the experience of a survivor or someone who lost their life to domestic violence.
Also, on Friday, November 14th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the City of Fall River will collaborate with the Fall River Pride Committee to Transgender Day of Remembrance. Mayor Paul Coogan will present a proclamation, and there will also be speakers from Fall River’s LGBTQ+ community.
Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual observance that honors the memory of transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.
