According to a new report, if you live in the Fall River area, it’s a pretty good spot to get good grocery store prices…and it is about to get even better.
In a survey of more than 75,000 members, Consumer Reports ranked national and regional chains of varying sizes for the best prices. A few local spots made the list of the top thirteen picks, include one that is soon to have a location in Fall River.
The following chains made the list:
Market Basket, with locations in Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, was placed among the top-rated chains in the country by Consumer Report members. The family owned grocery chain has been popular among Fall River area residents since it first opened at SouthCoast Marketplace.
Save-A-Lot, whose headquarters is located just outside of St Louis, uses smaller stores and an edited assortment to keep prices low.
Aldi, which is soon to have a location in Fall River, may be a smaller store with limited selection, but the Germany based chain is known for their reasonable prices.
