The name of the second victim in a fatal motorcycle crash in Somerset on Saturday morning has been released.

44-year-old Daniel Glover of South Easton was the man operating a motorcycle in a collision that also killed passenger 28-year-old Seekonk Patrolwoman Kourtny DeForitis of East Taunton.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, Glover left behind a wife, Amanda, and three children DJ, Eli, and Lily, “whose lives will be forever changed as they grapple with tremendous grief.”

Glover was a talented carpenter, an avid motorcyclist and was always available to his daughter as a “pony hauler” for her shows. He did not shy away from long hours on the road anytime it was needed.

At just before 1:15 a.m., Somerset Police received a report of a vehicle that had struck a telephone pole at the Route 103 rotary.

Upon arrival, officers located a motorcycle and a vehicle with two victims lying in the roadway. Glover was pronounced dead on-scene. DeForitis was transported by Somerset EMS to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The investigation revealed that the motorcycle driven by Glover entered the rotary in the wrong direction, colliding with the vehicle.

According to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, no charges will be filed in the crash.

Very tragic on many counts. A married man with a wife and 3 kids at home is out riding the wrong way on a rotary at 1:00 am with another woman on the back of his motorcycle. Why??!! My heart aches for his family.
