Bristol County District Attorney releases identity of Westport woman killed in bicycle collision

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced the identity of the bicyclist fatality yesterday on Route 6 in Dartmouth involving a dump truck. 

Dartmouth and Massachusetts State Police were dispatched to the area of 832 State Road in Dartmouth (Route 6 Westbound) at approximately 11:54 a.m., after receiving a 911 call. 

Upon arrival, police located a dump truck pulled to the right side of the roadway.   Police investigation revealed a collision had occurred between the truck and a bicyclist. 

The cyclist, a 74-year-old female identified as Denise Olson of Westport, MA, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The dump truck operator remained on scene and was cooperative with police.

The investigation into this matter is active and ongoing by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with the Massachusetts State Police, and Dartmouth Police. 

No further information was released.
