Brayton Point issues statement on fire concerns at Commerce Center
A day after the Somerset Town Administrator issued a statement on the fires and demolition at Brayton Point, the company themselves has issued a statement.
When Fall River Reporter contacted John Kowalik, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Commercial Development Company, Inc and Brayton Point LLC, he issued the following statement.
“Today our team installed and connected 5 fire hydrants and reestablished adequate water pressure on site. We are also working with Somerset Fire Department on a new fire prevention plan. Brayton Point Commerce Center is working closely with the Town of Somerset and look forward to resuming demolition activities soon.”
Yesterday, the Town of Somerset stated that based on the observations and recommendations of the Fire Department, the Building Official had temporarily suspended the Center’s demolition permit until he is satisfied that they have complied with the Fire Department’s concerns as the town looks to help bring the original plan of wind energy to Brayton Point.
