As virus cases overall near 100 a day in FR and NB, new school cases in MA pass 8,300, New Bedford near the top
COVID-19 cases among Massachusetts schools increased yet again this week with an even sharper climb.
According to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, a total of 7,223 new COVID-19 cases were reported among K-12 students from December 9th to December 15th. 1,153 were reported for staff making the overall total in Massachusetts schools for the past week at 8,376.
6,879 new COVID-19 cases for students were reported from December 2nd to December 8th. 1,105 were reported for staff making the total 7,984.
In a two-week period from November 18th to December 1st due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the state saw 9,909 cases with 8,513 among students and 1,396 among staff.
Back in March, student numbers were in the 400s with staff cases under 200.
Here are the statistics from some area cities and towns from December 9th to December 15th.
Acushnet: 10 students and 4 staff
Attleboro: 47 students and 6 staff
Dartmouth: 0 students and 0 staff
Fairhaven: 24 students and 0 staff
Fall River: 71 students and 19 staff
New Bedford: 126 students and 32 staff
Plymouth: 95 students and 9 staff
Seekonk: 18 students and 4 staff
Somerset: 18 students and 3 staff
Swansea: 43 students and 2 staff
Taunton: 31 students and 2 staff
Westport: 30 students and 4 staff
Fall River schools saw an improvement and ranked 14th in new student cases in the report this week. Just six weeks ago, Fall River had 6 new student cases and none among staff. The city has seen over 19,600 cases among all residents and is currently seeing an average of just over 97 cases per day the last two weeks. Last week the two-week average was just over 68.
New Bedford is near the top again this week. The city had the 6th most new student cases in the state. New Bedford has totaled over 21,300 cases among all residents with a current average of just over 98 cases per day the last two weeks. Last week the two-week average was just over 75.

That means more natural immunity. How many deaths..or hospitalizations have there been. reporting case numbers is nothing but a scare tactic.

It means nothing, common sense tells us that this is no more dangerous than the common cold. There is the flu…common cold..and allergies and hasn’t one wondered where they went? They’re now called covid. The drug companies are making billions while we are led into socialism.
