Fall River Police are looking for a suspect involved in a weekend stabbing.

According to Detective John Robinson, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Saturday November 9th, Tiverton Police Department received a call on its non-emergency line from a person who said his friend had been stabbed at Mickey Doyle’s Sports Bar 390 Rhode Island Ave. Fall River.

Tiverton Police responded to the Tiverton home and after a brief investigation notified the FRPD of the incident location and that the victim was being transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. The 27-year-old Tiverton man suffered a stab wound to the right side of his torso and his right hand was cut. Fall River Officer Raul Camara responded to Rhode Island to speak to the victim.

Officer Camara learned that a fight started after a 26-year-old Tiverton woman was assaulted early Saturday morning as last call was announce at the bar. The woman responded by punching the man in the face. A fight then broke out in the bar. Bouncers were able to move the brawlers outside the bar. The woman’s boyfriend (the 27-year-old Tiverton man) then got into a fist fight with the man who allegedly assaulted her. The bouncers stepped in again and separated the woman’s boyfriend from the suspect.

The woman’s boyfriend broke free, and the fight continued. The victim was so upset that he went around the bouncers and continued to fight with the suspect. It was at this time the victim believed he was stabbed. The man did not immediately go to the hospital, but returned to his Tiverton home.

The victim was unable to identify a suspect but told police he appeared to be a man in his 30s.

The incident remains open and anyone with information is asked to contact the Fall River Police Department Officer Raul Camara at 508-676-8511 or RCamara@FRPD.ORG. You can also call anonymously on the TIPS line at 508-672-TIPS (8477)

Agreed. Bar doesn’t even have a working phone number. Bartenders there really hold tight to tab credit cards. One ignored me and sliced my finger with a lemon knife when trying to tap his arm then accused me of somehow trying to “punch” him from the other side of their bar. Real lame brains.
