Thanks to the Fall River area community, a soon-to-open day care is back on track after two robberies in two days.

According to Lieutenant Antonio Elumba, on December 10 and 11, Fall River Police Department Officer Jennifer Deleon responded to two separately reported breaks and larcenies at the Pumpkin Patch Daycare located at 1310 South Main Street.

44-year-old Eric Teasdale, and 37-year-old Renae Frank were subsequently charged with offenses related to the daycare breaks and other related incidents.

Pumpkin Patch Daycare owner Natashia Machado stated that the pair walked away with thousands of dollars’ worth of items including brand new toys, tons of books, portable sinks, a drill, and even her first aid kit. The story didn’t end there.

Machado was told numerous times, to create a GoFundMe fundraiser. However, that’s not something she wanted to do.

“For me it was not about money. No amount of money could erase that feeling of being so violated.”

She did have an idea she was onboard with and that was creating an Amazon list of the items lost.

“Another friend mentioned an Amazon wish list. Everything I had originally purchased came from Amazon, so I was able to go back and find every item and created the wish list.”

Within 48 hours of posting the list, everything on it was purchased.

Thanks to the public’s generosity, Machado is now on track to open the daycare this month.

“All ready to go! We are shooting for a third week of January opening. we were, of course, delayed due to the break-ins so we’re just waiting on a couple more inspections.”
