A mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain could make driving icy

According to the National Weather Service, some messy weather could be headed our way.

It could be a slippery commute on Tuesday morning as overnight Monday into Tuesday could bring a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain to the area. Check back for updates.

The forecast:

Monday
Partly sunny, with a high near 37. West wind 3 to 7 mph.

Monday Night
A chance of snow before 11pm, then snow and sleet likely between 11pm and 3am, then freezing rain after 3am. Patchy fog after 4am. Low around 30. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tuesday
Freezing rain before 8am, then rain. Patchy fog before 9am. High near 39. Northeast wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Tuesday Night
A chance of rain and snow before 10pm, then a slight chance of snow between 10pm and 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Northwest wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
