Connecticut woman, who was caretaker of Massachusetts woman, captured in Rhode Island, accused of fraudulently making $15,000 in purchases
A former Massachusetts caretaker is accused of stealing from her former client.
According to police, 53-year-old Jennifer Campbell from Sterling, CT was arrested by the Mattapoisett Police Department for larceny over $250 from a person over 65.
It was alleged that a previous caretaker of the victim fraudulently used a credit card belonging to the victim to make over 30 purchases at local and online retailers stealing more than $15,000.
As a result of an extensive financial investigation, Det. Tavares was able to positively identify Campbell as the suspect for each purchase. Det. Tavares was able to locate Campbell out of state, and in conjunction with the Rhode Island Attorney Generals Office, Campbell was returned back to Massachusetts and placed into custody.
