Looking for something for your children to do during winter break? The Fall River Public Library has a few suggestions.

He’s big, he’s furry, and he lives in the frozen north–but he’s visiting the library for a day! Come meet Eddy the Yeti at the Fall River Public Library on Wednesday, February 22 from 11:00 a.m. to noon! Eddy will be posing for pictures as well as handing out Yeti Magnet Crafts for children to make. The scavenger hunt, Find the Yeti’s Clothes, will also be taking place throughout the day. It’s all part of the library’s Snowball Follies Week!

Beginning on Tuesday, February 21, kids can pick up a hot cocoa mug take-home craft and a do-it-yourself mini snowball launcher in the Children’s Room, while supplies last. They can enter a raffle to win a Snowball Follies gift basket. Kids can also Dress the Yeti in a fun scavenger hunt, then win snowballs with special prizes inside.

On Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 11 am, we’ll have a special Mardi Gras Storytime, recommended for ages 3 and up, complete with a parade, cake, and a visit with the King of Mardi Gras!

On Thursday, Feb. 23, kids aged 4 and up are invited to join in a game of Storybook Bingo from 1-2 pm, then try our interactive game system, BEAM, from 4-5 pm. But wait—the fun doesn’t stop there! We’ve also got Family Lego Night, starting at 6 pm. Kids and families are invited to join us and build a LEGO robot!

School vacation week is also a great time for family daytrips, the library also has discount passes for zoos, aquariums, and museums. For further information, contact the library at 508-324-2700 ext. 4.
