Two men held without bail in the murder of 32-year-old Rhode Island man
Two men have been charged an arraigned concerning a weekend murder.
On Sunday, the Woonsocket Police Department secured arrests warrants for 24-year-old Ibrahim Sylla and 24-year-old Jacob Lopez Diaz in connection with the murder of 32-year-old Christopher Penado on Saturday.
Both men were arrested Sunday evening and charged with 1st Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, 1st Degree Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.
At just after 6:00 p.m., Woonsocket Police responded to a reported disturbance in the area of 380 Social Street with several individuals fighting.
Upon arrival, police located a victim, later identified as Penado, suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to Landmark Hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
Penado was described by those who knew him as a good soul with a big heart. Friends expressed heartbreak over the news stating he will be missed by many.
Sylla and Diaz were arraigned in 6th District Court on Monday morning and were held without bail.
