One person transported to New Bedford hospital after crash on Route 140

A driver was transported to a New Bedford hospital after a highway crash on Monday evening.

According to the Lakeville Fire Department, the call for the crash came in around 10:30 p.m.

Ambulance 3 and Engine 1 responded to the southbound side of the highway at mile marker 12.4 for a vehicle into the center cables.

One person was transported to St. Luke’s with injuries that did not appear to be serious.

At 10:50 p.m., firefighters were alerted to a medical emergency. A recall was transmitted to staff Ambulance 1 for the response. Off-duty firefighters responded to the second emergency.

Lakeville Firefighters responded to 16 calls for service yesterday, on 5 occasions there were simultaneous emergencies.
