Motorcycle rider transported to trauma center, car operator cited and injured, after Fall River crash

Two people were injured over the weekend in a Fall River crash between a car and motorcycle.

According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, at just after noon, on Sunday, Officers responded to the 2400 block of Highland Avenue in response to a collision between a Toyota Corolla and a Kawasaki motorcycle.

Upon arrival, officers were advised that the Toyota Corolla was attempting to turn South onto Highland Avenue when the collision with the motorcycle occurred. The operator of the Toyota indicated that he did not see the motorcycle prior to entering the roadway.

Witnesses reported that the motorcycle operator was performing a “wheelie” at the time of the accident. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He is currently in stable condition.

The operator of the Toyota Corolla was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was issued a citation for failure to use care.
