Woman wins $1 million at Massachusetts Cumberland Farms, here is how she plans to spend it
A woman already knows what she plans to do with her winnings after hitting big money at a Massachusetts convenience store.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Patricia Dellamorte of Fort Myers, Florida is the winner of a $1 million Mega Millions prize after the first five numbers on her Quic Pic ticket matched those selected in the multi-state game’s drawing held Friday, July 5.
Dellamorte, who claimed her prize Monday, July 8 at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester, received a one-time payment of $1,000,000 (before taxes). She said she plans on investing and helping her family with the winnings.
She purchased her winning ticket while visiting Cape Cod at Cumberland Farms, 1171 Iyannough Rd. in Hyannis. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. in Atlanta, GA.
