Massachusetts woman plans on doing something for herself, family, after hitting $5 million State Lottery prize
A little for herself and a little for her family. That’s the plan for a Massachusetts woman that just won a big payday.
According to Massachusetts State Lottery, Kathy Burgess of Lanesborough has won a $5 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” $20 instant ticket game.
Burgess opted to receive her prize in the form of a one-time payment of $3,250,000 (before taxes). She said she plans on purchasing a new car from the dealership she works at as well as helping her children with her winnings.
She purchased her winning ticket at Price Chopper, 555 Hubbard Ave. in Pittsfield. The store receives a $50,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

Absolutely love hearing about Massachusetts winners. So happy for the woman. Of course I’d like to win even if it’s for $100, I’m not greedy. But you have to play to be able to win & every dollar I have has to go to bills & food.
