Police are investigating after a woman was shot early this morning in Fall River.

According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, at approximately 2:15 a.m., Officers responded to the intersection of Plymouth Avenue and Second Street in response to a report that a female had sustained a gunshot wound to her leg.

Upon arrival, officers located a 41-year-old female with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to her right thigh area.

The victim told investigators that she had gone for a walk, when she heard the sound of males talking followed by two ” loud pops”. According to the victim, shortly after the “pops” she realized that she had been shot.  She was unable to provide any additional information.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for medical attention. Her injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.

Seems a little strange to me …think about it she hears 2 males talking then gunshots and she magically gets hit I feel she knows more than she’s saying and doesn’t want to say anymore cause she’s afraid ….

Oh she knows a lot more then what she is saying but is afraid they will come back and probably kill her because let’s face it the cops want you to tell them but don’t give you the protection that is needed smh a restraining order doesn’t work!!!
