Bristol County woman has long road to recovery after serious injuries from crash involving wanted man
A crash earlier this month, allegedly caused by a suspect wanted for murder, has reportedly left a Bristol County woman with life-threatening injuries.
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, on June 15th, 24-year-old David K. Lynch, who is on the State Police Most Wanted list for allegedly committing a homicide in Brockton last year, fled from Troopers just after 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn in Middleborough.
Lynch was observed sitting in a BMW X1 SUV in the hotel parking lot. As Troopers and Officers approached, the suspect rammed two police vehicles as he fled onto Route 44. The suspect was pursued for a short period of time until Troopers lost sight of the suspect vehicle. A few moments later they learned that at approximately 3:05 p.m. the suspect vehicle struck another car at the intersection of Orchard and Warren streets in Raynham. The crash resulted in serious injuries to an occupant of that car.
While Lynch was apprehended after being wanted for murder and related offenses for a Nov. 2, 2022, shooting homicide of a male victim on West Park Street in Brockton, Becca Durocher of Taunton has a long road to recovery after the crash, according to a GoFundMe fundraiser.
“Becca was involved in a motor vehicle accident when a man attempting to evade the police struck her car at a high rate of speed. This accident resulted in multiple life- threatening injuries. Becca was transported to a local hospital where she was then medflighted into Boston.”
“In the last nine days Becca has undergone five major surgeries, she has remained on a ventilator in the Critical Care Unit where her long-time boyfriend, sisters and father have been at her bedside. Becca is FIERCE and she is making great progress. However, she has a very long road ahead of her which will include additional surgeries and rehabilitation. Becca and Colby will be out of work for an unspecified amount of time. Together, they share a home and a beautiful two-year-old daughter named Lennox.”
The fundraiser has raised over $15,000 as of this writing for family expenses.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the facts and circumstances of the entire incident involving Lynch are under active investigation.
