Rhode Island man saves woman’s life after dying from injuries in house fire
A Rhode Island man that died just two days ago from injuries sustained in a house fire has saved the life of a mother on Father’s Day.
Warwick fire crews responded minutes before 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday for a house fire at Center Court.
A couple was residing at the home at the time of the fire, however, the husband was the only one home. 64-year-old Nathan White was found unconscious and was resuscitated on scene.
White’s son Nathan announced on social media Friday night that his father had passed away.
“First off I want to thank everybody for the overwhelming prayers and love sent my way. Unfortunately, my father lost a battle this a.m. All his organs could not function alone, and he was 100% no brain activity. We respected his wish to unhook him this morning. My Dad was like everyone’s dad. Myself and my siblings actually were lucky because we had more than a dad. An awesome friend.
He had the best humor around and loved all three of us equally. He and my mom did a tremendous job raising us. Everything I create, paint, build etc. was never finished unless I had his approval cause only his mattered to me. We, like other families, weren’t finished …we had his retirement years to hang. I was able to give him his Father’s Day gift while he still had a heartbeat, and I will never forget it. It was awesome.
I love you Dad and please have fun with your mom and brother. I love you. Happy Father’s Day.”
Despite the tragic loss of his father, Nathan had some positive news to share Sunday afternoon.
“What wonderful news. My dad donated his liver, and it was a 100% match and was received today by a 30-year-old woman who has 3 children. One life lost. One saved.”
Nathan White Sr. was known for always helping others while alive. Now he is helping others in death.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
