Fall River Police are investigating after a man was injured this afternoon in a shooting.
According to Deputy Chief Barden Castro, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Fall River Police responded to the area of Third and Wade Streets due to reports of gun shots.
Upon arrival, officers determined it was evident by physical evidence that a shooting had occurred and that at least one person had been injured. Officers were subsequently able to locate a man at St. Anne’s Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. Although the victim’s injuries are reported to be non-life threatening, he was ultimately transported to Rhode Island Hospital for advanced treatment.
