Fall River restaurant changing ownership to a familiar face

A Fall River restaurant will be changing hands as a customer will now be the owner.

Eric and Carol LePage, owners of LePage’s Seafood on Martine Street, announced earlier this week that there will be new ownership next week.

“Carol & I wish to thank you all for your continued loyal patronage, supporting us over the last 34 years. From the bottom of our hearts, we are truly grateful for the wonderful relationships we have formed with all of you. It has been such a pleasure to watch your families grow over time and it is a wonderful experience that we will cherish forever. As bittersweet as this announcement may be, we are excited to retire and leave LePage’s Seafood in the hands of a very loyal customer and friend. You can rest assured that your favorite menu items will be staying the same, hours will not change just yet, and that warm welcoming atmosphere will still be in place for friends & families to gather.

“This will be our last weekend in business, as new ownership will begin next Thursday. Feel free to stop in to say hello, as it will definitely not be goodbye! You will still catch us at LePage’s often, just enjoying a drink on the receiving end – hanging out at the bar with you!”

Local dentist Jon-Paul Van Regenmorter went in front of the Fall River Licensing Board late last month, represented by Attorney Peter Saulino, to have the alcohol license transferred. Saulino stated during the meeting that for the time being, no change in hours or major renovations to the business are in store.

Van Regenmorter has been a long-time customer at Lepage’s and due to his familiarity with the property and the atmosphere, he should fit right in.
