A Massachusetts man has been arrested on some disturbing animal cruelty charges.
According to Spencer Police, on Tuesday morning, 56-year-old Edward W. Pilling, of Kingsbury Road in Spencer, was arrested on a warrant.
The incident began as a police response to a loose calf on February 15th. While on the property, three dead cows and a dead calf were discovered. The loose calf and a dog were seized and removed from the property for rehabilitation.
A subsequent investigation revealed the animals had suffered from lack of food, water and veterinary care.
