Driver charged, crashes, after driving into oncoming traffic attempting to pass in Franklin
Police want the public to know that driving outside of your travel lane, especially one with a double yellow divider, is not recommended nor encouraged.
It could also leave you with charges and a mangled car.
According to Franklin Police, on Friday morning, the driver of the vehicle pictured above tried passing someone in his travel lane on Lincoln Street. Doing so nearly caused a head-on collision in the other travel lane and led to the vehicle crashing off of the side of the road to avoid the collision.
The operator, which police did not name, was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Revoked License as a Habitual Traffic Offender, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Marked Lanes Violation.
