Fall River hits 13,800 COVID-19 cases, approaches 370 deaths, as more vaccine clinics announced
Fall River saw more cases of COVID-19 announced on Thursday in the City of Fall River’s weekly report.
According to the Mayor’s Office, 13,800 total cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Fall River, a 134 case increase reported since last Thursday.
The 134 case count is a decrease from the 159 cases reported the previous week. 181 was reported the week before that.
The Fall River Health Department is in contact with the individuals who have tested positive as well as their contacts.
Deaths in Fall River contributed to COVID-19 increased to 369 as 5 new deaths have been reported since April 22nd. 4 deaths were reported last week.
The Fall River Health and Human Services Department has confirmed vaccination clinics will continue for a third week at the Niagra/Maplewood Senior Center and at Fonseca School. These clinics will administer Pfizer vaccines and are intended to serve Fall River residents only. Appointments to receive a vaccine at these clinics is encouraged, but not mandatory. Walk-ins are welcome. Residents are reminded that vaccinations are always free of cost and available regardless of insurance. As of April 19th, all residents age 16 and older are eligible for a vaccine.
