Massachusetts sees 2nd day of decreased COVID-19 hospitalizations, lower positive rate with increased testing
Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations for second straight day in Friday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 212 more positive cases announced in the last 24 hours. A decrease from the previous 24 hour period. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate dropped to 1.4% from 1.5%.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 113,729 with 14 more reported dead for a total of 8,582.
Massachusetts had seen 319 more positive cases in the previous 24 hour period.
21,552 tests were performed, over 6,300 less than yesterday, to increase the overall total to 1,853,032. The amount of individuals tested is now 1,402,730.
Hospitalizations have decreased in 73 of the last 96 days, and saw a decrease of 3 today to see the total lower to 398.

• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 74,610
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,773
According to the CDC, as of August 14th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 5,228,817 with 166,317 dead.
