
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III announced that a worker was killed at a recycling yard in Freetown, MA Thursday.
Freetown Police and EMS were dispatched to Excel Recycling at 17 Ridge Hill Road at approximately noon after receiving 911 calls reporting that someone had been struck by a front loader and was injured on the property. Upon arrival, police located the front loader in question and located the male victim, who was an employee of Excel Recycling, on the ground near the front loader suffering from significant injuries.
The victim, who was identified as 52-year-old David Torres of Fall River, MA, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time after arrival.
The investigation into this matter is active and ongoing by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with Freetown Police.
