Long–time State Lottery instant game players that have yet to hit it big must be a little jealous towards a Massachusetts man after his decision to turn some change into a big win.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Kenneth Dougherty has won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$1,000,000 Bonus Wins” $5 scratch ticket game.
Dougherty chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He plans on saving his winnings.
He purchased the winning ticket at Palmers Variety, 221 Elm Street in Pittsfield. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
Doughterty told the Massachusetts State Lottery that he’s really a Keno guy but used his $10 change to purchase two $5 scratch tickets and picked a $1 MILLION winner!
“$1,000,000 Bonus Wins” has no grand prizes remaining.
