Massachusetts woman plans on using her $1 million State Lottery scratch ticket win to help the community in a way you wouldn’t expect

A Massachusetts woman has a unique way she plans on spending her big State Lottery win and it just may be the most admirable of them all.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Ashley Hurley of Worcester is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “LOTERIA™” scratch ticket game.

She chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). She plans on using the winnings to return to school to get her master’s degree in social work to help her community.

She purchased her winning ticket at Mobil, 635 Chandler St. in Worcester. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
