Local business owner who left impact in Westport, Fall River, Attleboro, passes away
A local man who left his mark on several area communities has passed away.
84-year-old Joao Jose Botelho of Westport passed away on Saturday peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.
According to an obituary, “prior to retirement, Joao worked as a Plant Manager at Hamilton Web. He previously worked at Quaker Fabric as a Quality Control Inspector and owned Mutche’s Shoe Repair in Attleboro.”
Christ the Rock Church also issued a statement after Botelho’s passing.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear brother, Joao Botelho, who was a faithful member of Christ the Rock Church for more than 40 years.
“Joao was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life reflected dedication to his family, hard work, and steadfast faith. For decades, he was a cherished part of our church family, and his presence, kindness, and legacy will be deeply missed.
“Please keep Elisette and the entire Botelho family in your prayers during this difficult time. Though our hearts grieve, we rejoice in the hope we have in Christ and the promise of eternal life.
“We invite our church family, friends, & community to join us as we celebrate Joao’s life and honor his memory.
