Services announced for Fall River man who gave decades of service as police officer
A Fall River man who gave decades of service as a police officer has died.
76-year-old Stanley M. Sarna passed away last week at Rhode Island Hospital.
According to an obituary, he “served proudly as a police officer with the Fall River Police Department for 32 years, dedicating his life to protecting and serving his community. A devoted Catholic, his faith was an important part of who he was.”
He loved cheering on Boston’s teams but especially “cherished time spent fishing with his brother, moments that brought him peace and happiness. He will be remembered for his dedication, his loyalty to those he loved, and the simple joys that meant so much to him.”
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday, March 18th here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian St. Joseph’s Church at 10 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Tuesday, March 17th from 4-6 P.M.
