A local man killed in a late-night collision in Bristol County is being remembered.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, on Monday, just after 11:00 p.m., a 911 call was placed to Westport Police advising of a vehicle off the road in the area of 591 Horseneck Road in Westport.

Upon arrival, first responders located a 2018 Dodge Challenger overturned in the woodline with one occupant.

The Westport Fire Department extricated the operator, who was identified as 36-year-old Zane Martin of Warren, RI, who was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Friends who knew Martin remembered his sense of humor stating that he was a great guy who was one of a kind and was always there whether it was to lend an ear, offer a helping hand, or just provide a much-needed laugh.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is being coordinated by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with the Westport Police Department.
