Well-known woman in Fall River area passes away at 80

A woman well known in the Fall River area community has died.

According to an obituary submitted by a family member, 80-year-old Loretta Carreira passed away on Saturday at Fall River Healthcare.

She was the widow of the late Arthur Carreira, and the former wife of the late Robert Bouchard.

Born in Fall River, on April 29, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Augustine Travassos and Lucy (Gouveia) Travassos.

After graduating from high school, Loretta dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. She created a warm and loving environment, finding her greatest joy in caring for her loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Bouchard and her step-children, Steven and Christine, among several other friends and family members. She was predeceased by her son Robert Bouchard and her daughter Darlene Lopez.

Arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the Oliveira Funeral Home of Fall River. A memorial service for family will be held at a later date.
