911 problems corrected in Massachusetts
The Massachusetts State Police have issued their final update on the 911 system.
The State 911 Department advises that the nationwide system issues that caused sporadic 911 outages throughout the day have been corrected, at least with respect to Massachusetts. Further, testing of the State 911 system confirms that the system is operational and that emergency calls to 9-1-1 are being routed to local and regional dispatch centers.
Residents are reminded to NOT call 911 or a local 10-digit emergency number to test functionality. Please ONLY call if you need emergency services.
