9 injured in largest shooting in Providence history
Providence Police are investigating after several dozen shots rang out in Providence Thursday.
Just before 7:00 p.m. on Carolina Avenue, a shootout took place between two groups that are known to each other.
9 people were injured between 19 and 25 years of age. Several of the injured were transported to the hospital before ambulances arrived.
Four to five semi-automatic weapons were used, according to police.
It is believed that this is the biggest mass shooting in the city’s history.
At least 40 evidence markers could be seen signifying a found casing.
Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza stated in a Friday morning news conference that due to the amount of shots that were quickly dispersed, comprehensive gun control laws are needed so incidents like these don’t happen again.

Mayor Jorge is such an incompetent, dumb, activist fool. Way in over his head as Mayor. A creepy little community organizer is not a leader or has executive skills. This idiot actually states that more gun control is needed. Rhode Island does not have gun regulations? gun laws?
The solution is Hood Rat control; there are too many filthy hood rats in PRI and more on their way.
