3 from Rhode Island charged after 489 packages of THC edibles, half-pound of marijuana, 21 THC vape pens, cocaine, cash seized

Three from Rhode Island were arrested late last week on drug charges after an investigation.

According to police, on Thursday, Newport Police Department Detectives along with members of the Patrol Division, executed search warrants at two separate locations in association with a narcotics investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division.

During the execution of these search warrants, located was approximately 40 grams of cocaine, 489 packages of THC edibles, a half-pound of marijuana, 21 THC vape pens, 6 vials of vape oil, $2589 in cash and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the seizures, three subjects were arrested and charged.

Kevin Smyth, age 26, was charged with 2 counts of possession with intent to deliver schedule I/II controlled substance, 1 count of possession with intent to deliver over 5 kilograms of marijuana and 1 count of obstructing an officer in the execution of their duties.

Ethan Smyth, age 19, was charged with 2 counts of possession with intent to deliver schedule I/II controlled substance, 1 count of possession with intent to deliver over 5 kilograms of marijuana.

Stephanie Grafals, age 25 was charged with 2 counts of possession with intent to deliver schedule I/II controlled substance and 1 count possession of sched I-V controlled substance.
