A Fall River woman has been charged after vandalism took place at a city business.

According to Det. Lieutenant Moses Pereira, at just after 8:45 a.m., on Monday, units were dispatched to the Southcoast Marketplace in response to a report of a woman vandalizing the windows at TJ MAXX with spray paint.

As officers made their way to that location, they were advised that the woman had left the area in a vehicle. Officers located a 28-year-old Fall River woman in the Aldi parking lot seated in her vehicle. When officers encountered her, they observed what appeared to be red spray paint on her hands. They also observed a can of red spray paint in her vehicle.

Upon speaking with her, officers determined that she was suffering from a mental health crisis. She was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.

While on scene, officers were advised that she also vandalized a vehicle in the Southcoast Marketplace parking lot with red spray paint before she left the scene.

She will be issued a criminal summons for vandalism. Her name was not released.
