21-year-old Massachusetts man accused of murdering 15-year-old girlfriend in her home
LOWELL – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Greg Hudon have confirmed that 21-year-old Trevor Bady of Tewksbury has been indicted by a Middlesex Grand Jury for fatally shooting 15-year-old Ahliana Dickey inside her Lawrence Street apartment in Lowell.
Bady has been charged with murder in the first degree and various firearm offenses. He was arraigned yesterday in the Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn.
On June 14, 2024, Ahliana Dickey was scheduled to attend her eighth grade graduation. When she did not appear, her family became concerned and attempted to locate her before ultimately going to her home. At approximately 6:10 p.m., the victim’s grandmother called Lowell Police to report that her granddaughter had been found, possibly deceased, inside her Lawrence Street apartment. Upon arrival, police located the victim, subsequently identified as Ahliana Dickey on the floor in a first-floor bedroom with apparent gunshot wounds. Multiple shell casings were also located at the scene.
Investigators learned that the victim had an intimate relationship with Trevor Bady and that Bady had allegedly hit her and threatened her in the past.
Shortly after midnight on June 14, 2024, Lowell Police received a call from an individual on Lawrence Street reporting that a male and female were fighting outside across the street. The caller reported hearing a female screaming “get off me, get away from me, I don’t want to be with you anymore.” The caller also reported hearing gunshots.
Police responded to the scene but the parties could not be located. Video recovered in the area allegedly showed a female, later identified as the victim, yelling for help shortly before midnight and a male party, allegedly identified as the defendant, leaving the victim’s home shortly after midnight.
On June 15, 2024 police learned that the defendant had allegedly taken an Uber to and from the victim’s home before and after the murder. The driver later reported that he had had a suspicious passenger and expressed concern. That passenger was allegedly identified as the defendant.
On June 17, 2024, police located the defendant inside a Peabody residence. He was arrested without incident.
This investigation was conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Lowell Police and Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office. The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, the Middlesex Sherriff’s Office Warrant Apprehension Unit, Tewksbury Police, and Nashua Police.
The prosecutors assigned to this case are Christopher Tarrant and Bayley Weese. The victim witness advocate is Renee Leone.
