Those who knew her have revealed that an 18-year-old that was found dead on Tuesday had been reported missing.

According to her parents, Kya Donovan from Manchester, New Hampshire was last seen alive in Everett, MA around 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Her purse and phone were found on the ground on Springvale Avenue, and she was never one to be without her phone.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Chief of Police Steven Mazzie confirmed Tuesday the ongoing investigation into the death of a 18-year-old female.

At approximately 2:00 p.m., a resident of a Springvale Avenue home in Everett called 911 to report that she had located the female apparently deceased behind her home.

Upon arrival, police located the woman outside. She was pronounced dead on scene. Based on the preliminary investigation, there were no obvious injuries. However, due to the circumstances around the location of the body it is being investigated as suspicious at this time.

Kya’s father posted a tribute to his daughter and asked for privacy as the pieces of the investigation are put together.

“My beautiful, intelligent, resilient Kya Donovan was an amazing daughter, loving sister and wonderful friend. I pray that peace is now found and that you and your uncle Matthew Donovan are up there laughing and smiling down on all that remain behind. You were truly one in a billion kiddo. You’ll always be my “shunshine”.”

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has accepted the case and will determine the cause and manner of death. This is an open and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Everett Police.
