15-year-old Massachusetts girl ejected and killed in crash remembered as loving, courageous

A Massachusetts teen who died after a fatal weekend crash has been identified.

According to police, late Saturday night, Uxbridge emergency services responded to a single vehicle crash in the area of 685 Chocolog Road.

A Ford Focus with 3 occupants struck a utility pole and left the roadway. One occupant, Sophia Gardner, a 15-year-old student at Uxbridge High School, was ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital.

CEMLEC Accident Reconstruction Team is handling the circumstances surrounding the crash.

In a statement, Uxbridge PD asked the public to respect the privacy of the family and to allow investigators the time necessary to determine the facts surrounding this tragic incident.

An online fundraiser has been launched to help the family with meals and expenses.

Family described Gardner as the most amazing, courageous, and loving girl.
