Fall River woman arrested on drug distribution charges
A Fall River woman has been arrested on drug distribution charges according to police.
According to Detective Lieutenant Michael C. Arnold, the Portsmouth Police Detective Division initiated an investigation due to recent drug overdoses in the area.
On Friday August 24, surveillance was set up by the detective division after receiving information that a female was in the area with a quantity of heroin for distribution.
After observing her making a drug transaction in the parking lot of CVS Pharmacy on Turnpike Ave, officers took the suspect into custody.
Isabel Marie Medeiros, 37, of 108 Smith Street Fall River, was the suspect arrested by Portsmouth Police.
Medeiros was charged with delivery of heroin and will be held pending an arrangement Saturday morning.
